Generated shots
A clip from a prompt, or a shot continued from the boundary frame of the clip before it — the continuity mechanism, and the route to the better image-to-video model.
Generated video and stills, AI voices, captions and their translations run on GPUs somebody has to pay for — so they spend credits. Everything that runs on your own hardware is free, and stays free. The app quotes the cost of an operation before it spends anything.
The line is drawn by where the work happens, not by what looks impressive. A colour grade on your own machine is free however good it looks; a generated shot is metered however small it is.

Title cards, backgrounds, product shots — an image from a description, dropped straight onto the timeline.
A script read in a chosen voice, timed to the timeline. Ask the assistant to write the script first if you like; that part is free.
Speech to timed captions, styled in the editor and exported as a file or burnt in.
The same captions in another language, keeping the timing.
Free includes 20 minutes a month up to 1080p; Studio and Business render 4K with priority. Beyond the included minutes, rendering on our hardware spends credits. Your own machine renders for nothing, at any length.
A pack is a one-time purchase: it never expires, it never renews, and no plan is attached to it. Studio and Business include an allowance every month on top of anything you buy.
Prices and allowances read live from the billing service, so this page cannot drift from what you would be charged. Purchased credits are kept separately from the monthly allowance and are spent last.
Every metered action shows its cost before it runs. There is no surprise on a statement, because there is no statement — credits are paid for before they exist.
Credits you bought sit there until you use them. A pack bought in January is as good in December.
Running out of credits pauses the metered features only. The editor, the renderer and the recorder carry on exactly as before.
If you have no credits, the job does not run. We never run the job and send an invoice after; a declined card is never a debt.
Nothing in the editor quietly becomes a credit cost at the end. What is metered is listed above; the list is the whole list.
To continue a shot from the clip before it, the editor sends that clip's boundary frame to the generation service. To voice a script, it sends the script. To caption a clip, it sends that clip's audio. It sends the thing the job needs, at the moment you ask, and nothing else on the timeline.
Nothing you upload or generate is used to train anything. Your media is held only for as long as the job and its result need it, under your own workspace, and the security page says exactly where it lives. The desktop app's own editing, rendering and recording never leave the machine — see local-first.
Every new workspace starts with credits to try the metered work. The editor tells you the price before it spends them.
